Andhra Pradesh, a state with one of the highest GDP growth rates, certainly has a lot at stake to make the vaccination drive a successful one in order to ease the Covid situation and bring the state’s economy back to full bloom. It is one of the states which is seeing a heavy volunteer participation for the vaccination process. Earlier, village volunteers were instructed to conduct a door-to-door survey for preparation of a database of co-morbid persons.

JAMMU, Dec 21: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir today formed a UT level committee and also district level committees for management of adverse events of the COVID-19 vaccine, if any.
According to the Government order, Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department (H&MED) J&K will be the chairman of the UT level committee while as Director Family Welfare MCH & Immunization J&K will act as vice chairman and Inspector General of Police Jammu/Kashmir, Mission Director NHM J&K, Director Information J&K and Drug Controller J&K will be members of the committee. State Immunization Officer J&K will be convener/member secretary of the committee.

Karnataka State Women Development Corporation has invited applications from eligible women’s groups to avail micro-loans for the year 2020-21. SC/ST Sthree Shakti Groups are eligible to avail interest-free loan amount of Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh for Sthree Shakti Groups belonging to other communities. Applications can be had from Office of Child Development Project Officer in their respective taluks and submit the filled-in applications before Dec. 22. The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown have proved to be new drivers of child marriages in rural Madhya Pradesh with several reports of such ceremonies from different parts of the State during the ongoing marriage season.
“I am a widow and I don’t have any kind of social security. Marriage is the only safe option for my daughters,” said Bijja Bai Jatav [name changed], sitting beside a heap of mattresses and quilts piled up on a wooden bed, in front of her house in Rujankhedi village in Nasrullaganj teshsil of Sehore district.
