3 hospitals join forces for POWER Initiative - Odessa American: Education

The POWER Initiative has announced its partnership with all three Midland/Odessa hospitals, beginning Jan. 1, 2021. Midland Memorial Hospital will join previous partners, Medical Center Hospital and Odessa Regional Medical Center, in the reading initiative partnership.
POWER is an overarching plan to try to âconnect all the touchpoint and through lines from birth to kindergarten or prek,â said Adrian Vega, executive director of the Education Partnership of the Permian Basin.
The POWER Initiative falls under the Education Partnership of the Permian Basin. Vega said it gives âstructure and focus to how weâre aligning all our resources. The whole goal is to improve kindergarten readiness. Weâre literally starting at birth.
Price Is Right & Let s Make a Deal Get Primetime Specials in January
Let s Make a Deal, hosted by Wayne Brady are headed to primetime in the new year. CBS daytime gameshows will kick off 2021 with new primetime specials throughout January.
The Price is Right at Night will feature actor and comedian Adam Devine on Wednesday, January 6th (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT); entertainer and philanthropist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges on Wednesday, January 13th (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and have another special on Wednesday, January 27th (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Details for the Jan. 27 special will be announced closer to air.

Trafford native and international recording artist Mark Milovats will be sharing his “Christmas Wonderland” stage production with digital viewers and television audiences.
The special, comprising highlights from the live 2018 holiday production, will air on WTAE at 5 p.m. Sunday.
“Christmas Wonderland” has been syndicated for broadcast throughout the holiday season on CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox and CW affiliates across the country.
“Especially during this difficult time, it is my sincerest wish that my Christmas special brings families young and old an opportunity to relive holiday memories and make cherished new ones together,” Milovats said. “We just wanted to bring people some fun and enjoyment since we couldn’t do anything live this year.”
