YOUNG bakers were asked to put their skills to the test to create a Showstopper cake during the February half-term. The Covid-19 pandemic brought the country to a halt, but many people used the time to pick up new skills, whether in the garden or the kitchen. For many pupils at Southdown Primary, they regularly shared their creations with staff via their online platform. As a result, Year 4 teacher Danielle Carrigan organised an optional challenge for February half-term where children could bake a Showstopper cake . She said: Throughout this lockdown we have received lots of baking photographs from the children via our online platform.
