Cresco, Iowa, man pleads guilty to cyberstalking Kandiyohi County woman

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA A man who used Facebook and the mail to stalk another person pled guilty on Friday in federal court in Cedar Rapids, according to the U.S. Attorney s Office in the Northern District of Iowa.
Michael Shawn McGuire, age 57, from Cresco, Iowa, was convicted of four counts of cyberstalking a Kandiyohi County woman.

Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office: 12:13 p.m. Sunday, 700 block of Main Street West, Pipestone. A parked 2016 GMC Terrain owned by Sonia Griebel of Pipestone was struck by an unknown vehicle in the driver side front. The vehicle was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported. RUSSELL Â A weekend incident that ended with one person injured and another apprehended in a vehicle chase is under investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office said law enforcement responded to a 911 call around 6:39 a.m. Dec. 12, at a residence in rural Russell.
When emergency medical responders and law enforcement arrived at the scene, they found a 62-year-old man with lacerations to his head. The injuries were believed to have been caused by a long knife, the Sheriff’s Office said. The man was airlifted from the scene for treatment of his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office said another resident of the house, a 30-year-old man, was believed to have been involved in the incident, but he had fled before officers arrived. Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies assisting at the scene found a suspicious vehicle leaving the area, and tried to stop it.
