1/1 A CHESTER man who pleaded guilty to criminal damage was temporarily sent to custody after a foul-mouthed tirade in court. Ranjit Guardial-Singh Virdi, 62, of Brook Street, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, January 5, where he admitted damaging bollards at Chester Probation Service at Chester West Employment Park on December 11. But after taking offence to a comment made by a probation officer during a positive probation report, Virdi reacted angrily, shouting and swearing in the dock despite repeated attempts by the court legal adviser to tell him to stop talking. Court security was called and Virdi was sent down while magistrates retired to consider their verdict.
