U.S. Senator Mark Kelly will visit Yuma today.
Sen. Kelly said he will be briefed by Yuma Sector Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem and tour border patrol operations at the U.S.-Mexico border. Kelly, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said he will also visit both Marine Corps Air Station Yuma and Yuma Proving Ground and meet with local leaders.
In January, Sen. Kelly said he made his first visit to the border as a Senator, touring the Port of Douglas with Douglas Mayor Donald Huish, Area Port Director Jeffrey Wilson and Customs and Border Protection Director of Field Operations Guadalupe Ramirez. Kelly said he has also spoken with John Modlin, the Interim Tucson Sector Border Patrol Chief, about security along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona.
