When I first stepped through the large glass doors of the Surrey campus’ main building, I thought university life would be like the movies. I imagined myself attending sports games, parties, and talking to random people as I made my way to class.
In my first month at the university, I found out there were no varsity sports teams, there were no parties, and the closest I ever got to talking with strangers was in the Tim Hortons line-up.
Through the end of my second year at KPU, things began to look less gloomy. I joined
The Runner as a contributor, and through there I was able to get to know the student clubs and discovered the services and activities hosted by the Kwantlen Student Association.

Several motions were passed by the Kwantlen Student Association council after they reached quorum for their monthly online meeting on Dec. 10.
Councillors Dilvaj Virk, Abhay Singh Cheema, Marika Wagner, Dhanwant Singh, Simranjit Kaur Dhaliwal, Harmandeep Kaur, Sukhmandeep Singh Gill, Armandeep Kaur were all absent. Business faculty representative Ravinder Pal Singh reported being unable to attend on camera because he was recovering after testing positive for COVID-19.
The council has been unable to pass motions in the last few months because too few councillors were attending the online meetings, and there was no meeting held in November.
