KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 22 ― Former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has filed an appeal against a 12-month jail sentence and fine of RM2 million imposed by the High Court yesterday after finding him guilty of accepting bribe of RM2 million from a businessman.
His lawyer, Datuk Tan Hock Chuan, when contacted by reporters, said the notice of appeal was filed yesterday through the online judicial system (e-filing).

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21 ― Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was sentenced to imprisonment and a fine by the High Court today after he was found guilty of accepting a RM2 million bribe in his capacity as former Federal Territories minister.
High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan, in handing down the punishment, said he had taken into consideration all of the mitigation arguments submitted by the defence and the prosecution, including public interest and that of the accused.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21 Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has been found guilty by the High Court today on a charge of accepting a RM2 million bribe from a businessman in his capacity as former Federal Territories minister.
In delivering his judgment to a packed courtroom, High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan said Tengku Adnan had failed to raise reasonable doubt in the prosecution’s case after conducting a maximum evaluation of all the evidence tendered in court.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang today said he assured PKR president Anwar Ibrahim when the two met on Friday, that the DAP leadership never proposed to change the Opposition Leader.
Kit Siang said he did however call on Anwar to unite the Opposition with a new national consensus.
“When I met the Parliamentary Opposition Leader, Anwar Ibrahim, on Friday, I assured him that the DAP leadership had never proposed a change of Opposition Leader, but the Opposition must set forth in a new direction focussing on the need to strengthen and consolidate all Opposition forces in the country through a new national consensus,” he said in a statement today.
