The developer said Cantina Loca is expected to enhance the environment at Broadstone. The restaurant will have âupscale Mexican dishesâ as well as cocktails on its menu.
It is also expected to have a large patio designed to accommodate various weather conditions, such as fans to keep customers cool in the summer, electric heaters to keep them warm in colder months and roll down covers to protect the dinners from wind and rain.
The restaurant already has a website set up at www.cantina-loca.com as well as Facebook and Instagram pages. It can be found at @cantinalocatl on Facebook and @cantina loca on Instagram.

James Wilson, a recipient of a Presidentâs Volunteer Service Award, doesnât describe himself as a leader.
It may seem like an oxymoron, but Wilson, a deputy at the Gwinnett County Sheriffâs Office, sees himself as a man in the background. No matter what heâs doing to help others, usually with his green thumb, he works until heâs satisfied with the results.
âI want to serve,â Wilson said. âI think thatâs what my purpose in life has been, is to make the world a better place.â
The Presidentâs Volunteer Service Award honors individuals whose service positively impacts communities in every corner of the nation and inspires those around them to take action, according to a government site. Recipients are nominees Certifying Organizations to recognize their most exceptional volunteers.
For Sugar Hill Elementary School second grade teacher Katie Blum, the desire to be a teacher goes way back.
In fact, as a little girl, she would play teacher and make family members pretend to be her students. Itâs just something that has seemingly always been a part of her.
âI cannot remember a time Iâve ever not wanted to be a teacher,â Blum said. âMy mom says I started playing school around when I was 3 so Iâve literally played school and wanted to be a teacher my whole life.â
Blumâs desire to teach culminated on Thursday night with Gwinnett County Public Schools announcing her as its 2021 district-wide Teacher of the Year during a special ceremony at the school systemâs Instructional Support Center in Suwanee.
