NEWTOWN â The Parks and Recreation Commission, meeting Tuesday, April 13, discussed a pickleball social to be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, with food trucks and music at Aquilaâs Nest Vineyards, 56 Pole Bridge Rd.
Titled the Stay Out of the Kitchen Pickleball Social, this event will also feature cornhole and a silent auction.
Donations for the silent auction are currently being accepted.
Regarding department business, Amy Mangold, director, reported that approximately $450,000 was currently available in the surcharge fund, responding to a request from the commissioners who were interested in the total for planning purposes.
She commented that the past year was slow due to Covid-19, with only $76,000 coming into the fund.
