The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) has been told by the Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) to produce financial reports accounting for the funds that the association has used in the past four years.
NAM officials asked to explains use of funds
According to the council’s acting executive secretary, Henry Meleka, NAM has been drawing 200 million Kwacha from government every year but no report has ever been presented to the council in the past four years.
This is coming at a time when the country’s netball governing body awaits its elective Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March this year.
The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) intends to have two vice presidents with clear roles for each under the president. NAM president, Khungikile Matiya, told a local radio station that the executive intends to propose an amendment to the association’s constitution to allow for the two vice presidents as is the case in neighbouring countries. Sports analysts have faulted the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) on the way it handles transfers of Malawi netball players who go and play outside Africa.

Reports have shown that exports like Mwawi Kumwenda, Joyce Mvula, Towera Vinkhumbo and Laureen Ngwira all went to play outside Africa but the teams they went to play for never paid a single penny to clubs that groomed these players back home in Malawi.
Club officials have disclosed that NAM told the clubs to allow the players leave just like that.

This is the second day since Fr. Kazingatchire passed on, but still sounds like false. The late father inspired many, and the quality of education at the Catholic University owes a lot to Late Father Kazingatchire. I cant imagine going back to the university, the going past his office, and you read “Director of Academic Affairs” but without the face of the seasoned academicians. It is possible to recruit another director, but his performance will be measured against the late father.
