The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has felicitated Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations which mark the end of Ramadan.
CUPP said there is no doubt that the month-long fasting afforded Muslim brothers and sisters the opportunity to rededicate themselves to God and prayed for the nation in this period of political upheavals, economic recession, social discontent, religious disharmony and insecurity across the country.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, Contact and Mobilisation Committee, and member, Steering Committee, CUPP, Reverend Olusegun Peter.
“CUPP enjoins Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of love, peace, tolerance, forgiveness and hard work as we renew our faith in the fatherland and build a strong, united, progressive and decent democratic society.

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop misleading the public over the judgment of the Supreme Court, on Friday 7th May 2021, which upheld the deregistration of the National Unity Party (NUP) as the judgment has no effect whatsoever in the matter of 22 political parties pending at the Supreme Court and other parties at various stages of litigation.
CUPP said it is alarmed that INEC would be sponsoring and spreading fake news that the Supreme Court has upheld its deregistration of 74 political parties, on 6th February 2020, conscious of the fact that only one political party, (NUP) appeal was determined by the apex court.

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for sacking the service chiefs, noting that the rejig came at the right time.
CUPP Co-National Spokesman Mark Adebayo in a statement urged the new security chiefs to put in their best in addressing the wanton killings and kidnapping ravaging the country.
Adebayo, further appealed to President Buhari to sack the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major-General Babagana Monguno, claiming that he also has failed to provide useful advice to address the scourging insecurity.
‘We note that though the decision was late in coming, it is still a welcome development being what all right-thinking Nigerians have been clamouring for.
