Biden Rejoined the Paris Agreement. Now He Must Lead by Example.
The U.S. needs to move beyond its legacy of dithering on climate and set firm and meaningful targets on reducing carbon emissions.

On the same day he was inaugurated, along with signing a slew of executive orders, President Biden rejoined the Paris climate agreement. The move was celebrated as showing Bidenâs commitment to addressing the climate crisis. As he promised in his campaign, Biden is prioritizing four âconverging crisesâ: COVID, economic crisis, climate crisis, and racial justice. This policy shift is long overdue and welcome.
