COMOG joins calls to oppose LGBTQI activities

It said it had given the Australia High Commissioner to Ghana, the Danish Ambassador and Head of the European Union (EU) delegation to Ghana seven days to apologise and assure Ghanaians that they  respected the country’s values, traditions, cultural and religious beliefs.

Sanction Diplomatic Missions Pushing LGBTQI Agenda In Ghana - COMOG

  The Coalition of Muslim Organisations, Ghana (COMOG), on Wednesday called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to sanction diplomatic missions in Ghana pushing the LGBTQI agenda in the country. The Coalition said the attendance of the launch of the Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) Community in Ghana and the open strong support to that community by the European Union, Denmark and Australian representatives in Ghana must not only be condemned but be sanctioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The COMOG said at a press briefing to state its stance on LGBTQI and also call on government to take immediate steps to curb such activities in the country.

Put Country Above Party Interest - COMOG Tells NPP, NDC

  The Coalition of Muslim Organisations (COMOG) has called on the two major political parties in the country, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to put the country above their partisan interests. The coalition also entreated leaders of both parties to adhere to the peace pact signed on December 4, 2020, ahead of the elections which enjoined them to use judicial means to seek redress and also engage in acts that would deepen the country’s democracy. “COMOG calls on both the NPP and the NDC to put the paramount interest of Ghana above their partisan interests. The leaders of both parties must remember and adhere to the peace charter they signed on December 4, 2020, ahead of the election,” a statement signed by the General Secretary of COMOG, Mr Mohammed Shahadu, said.
