Alliance s First Christian Church plans Blue Christmas service

First Christian Church, 1141 W. Beech St. in Alliance, has announced its annual Blue Christmas service will be 1 p.m. Dec. 20.
The service is designed to help people adjust to suffering the loss of a loved one or any other loss this Christmas season. Feelings of loss can come from many different sources: Loss of a loved one or pet, loss of a job or a way of life, loss from a divorce or home or financial security, loss of expectations. Those facing losses see the rest of the world filled with joy and merriment, which they are missing. Healing often begins when those with hurting hearts are given permission to grieve, organizers said in a news release.
