Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday (May 28) announced the unlocking process in the national capital will begin on Monday (May 31) This lockdown will last till 5 am of Monday. We will begin the unlocking process. Construction activities and factories will be reopened from Monday keeping the daily wage workers in mind, the Delhi Chief Minister said. He also said that the positivity rate has come down to 1.5 per cent and around 1,100 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Delhi.
Traders in the national capital are unhappy about the Delhi government s decision on Friday to allow just construction activities and factories to resume during the first phase of unlocking the city which begins from May 31. Atul Bhargava, the president of the New Delhi Traders Association, said they would request the Delhi government to allow shops to be opened in the next phase of the unlock exercise. Definitely today s announcement has come as another blow to us. It has been fifteen months and no respite for traders. If factories are safe from virus why are not the stores in Connaught Place where it is easier to maintain social distancing?

New Delhi, May 28 : Lifting the lockdown restrictions for construction work and also for manufacturing and production units in the national capital, which will come into effect from Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that the administration will take a decision on allowing activities in the city phase-wise.
Delhi s Covid management body, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), which is being chaired by Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal, on Friday decided that lifting of the lockdown will proceed like it was imposed week-wise.
Trader in Delhi are divided over Delhi CM Kejriwal's decision of phased unlock. Traders claimed that if factories are allowed to operate after June 1, they will not be able to sell their produce since most markets in Delhi are shut.
