Vehicle registration slumps 28 per cent in Apr
New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) After a de-growth of 30 per cent in FY 2020-21, retail sales of vehicles further fell 28 per cent in April on month-on-month basis.
Registration data released by Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) on Monday showed a decline in all categories in April 2021. Overall, 16,49,678 vehicles were registered in April which is 28.15 per cent less than March figure.
Two-wheeler registration was down by 27.63 per cent to 11,95,445 and three-wheeler by 43 per cent to 38,
034. Passenger vehicles, tractors and commercial vehicle segments registration fell by 25 per cent, 45 per cent and 24 per cent respectively. Total 2,79,745 PVs were sold in Apr this year.

Vehicle registration stood at 11,85,374 units in April 2021, compared to 17,38,802 units reported for the corresponding period of last year and 16,49,678 units in March 2021.
However, tractor registration during last month rose by 3.52 per cent on a YoY basis to 38,285 units.

Vehicle registration stood at 11,85,374 units in April 2021, compared to 17,38,802 units reported for the corresponding period of last year and 16,49,678 units in March 2021.
However, tractor registration during last month rose by 3.52 per cent on a YoY basis to 38,285 units.

With almost all the States resorting to either a partial or a full lockdown amid the second wave of the pandemic, total retail vehicle registrations declined 28% to about 11.85 lakh units in the last month compared with March, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said on Monday.
For the full year ended March 31, vehicle sales fell almost 30% to 1.52 crore units. Annual vehicle registrations were below FY13 levels, that is, their lowest in eight years.
The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), apex national body representing automobile dealers in India, on Monday, 10 May 2021 released monthly vehicle registration data for April 2021.
Total vehicle registrations tumbled 31.83% to 11,85,374 in April 2021 over 17,38,802 in April 2019. The organisation said: Unlike other months, we can t represent a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) comparison since India was under complete lockdown in April 2020 and not a single vehicles could be sold. Hence, all comparisons for this month has been done on M-o-M basis.
Two-wheeler registrations tumbled 35.35% to 8,65,134 in April 2021 as compared to 13,38,278 in April 2019. Three-wheeler registrations slumped 55.59% to 21,636 in April 2021 as against 48,722 in April 2019. Passenger Vehicles (PV) registrations fell 11.56% to 2,08,883 in April 2021 over 2,36,188 in April 2019. Commercial Vehicles (CV) registrations skid 34.58% to 51,436 in April 2021 as compared to 78,630 in April 2019.
