As COVID-19 vaccines slowly get into the arms of Canadians, and with the warmer weather of summer almost within reach, Londoners are increasingly speaking of a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. It can’t come soon enough.
Many terms describe what this past year has brought, but perhaps “constraint” is the most fitting. Things we took for granted travel, health, hospital access, movies, clubs, dancing, sports venues, public celebrations became inaccessible. Individually and collectively, we have felt repressed and increasingly obsessed with breaking free of those bonds.

At the April 6 West Grey council meeting, council unanimously selected costing Option #2 – a design to meet architects’ recommendations at a cost of $8,852,241 for the proposed West Grey Police Service new building.
Direction from council on design type was required prior to completing all construction documents. Construction documents are required to request tenders from contractors, apply for building permits and start construction.

Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole released his party’s climate plan on Thursday. The plan contrasts the Liberal carbon tax-and-rebate system by proposing to charge a levy on fuel purchases and divert revenues into a “Personal Low Carbon Savings Account,” which Canadians would use for environmentally friendly purchases. Essentially, Canadians would pay into their account every time they purchase hydrocarbon-based fuel, like gas, and then use that money to pay for green products like a bike or bus pass.
