As a historic all-weather friend, India as a cotton exporting country should be on top of our lists for a win-win situation for both the countries, he said. The State Minister was addressing the second Bangladesh-India Cotton Fest 2020 at a city hotel. Prime Minister s Adviser Salman F Rahman spoke as the chief guest.

Won’t allow insults against Bangabandhu: Government officials pledge Photo: Collected Star Online Report Star Online Report Government officials in a rare instance today held protest rallies across the country, including in the capital, pledging to not allow any insult against Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The protest programmes were held under the banner of Government Official Forum. Non-cadre officials were also present in those programmes. Similar rallies were held today in divisional cities, district towns and at upazila levels. All these were coordinated by the Bangladesh Administrative Service Association, an organisation of the BCS (Administration) cadre formed in 1981.

Nine of the awardees topped the national roll while 131 were of their respective district, all listed under manufacturing, trade and service categories. This is a moment to rejoice. The NBR organised the event to mark VAT Day and VAT week as a part of its initiative to create awareness on paying the indirect tax and helping the state finance development activities and national budget while cutting dependence on domestic and foreign loans.
