ISLAMABAD: While formulating seven sub groups, including macroeconomic framework to ascertain the exact size of resource envelope, the provinces in the maiden session of NFC expressed reservations over the inclusion of cost sharing on account of various heads from the share of the federating units.
The Centre included certain provisions of expenditures into Terms of Reference as part of discussions for the 10th National Finance Commission (NFC) Award but all the stakeholders decided to defer discussion on it because the provinces were not ready to listen to any proposal that slashed their share in the overall Federal Divisible Pool (FDP). ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2021 ) :The Supreme Court on Friday adjourned hearing of the presidential reference seeking an opinion on open balloting for the upcoming Senate elections till Monday.
A five-member SC larger bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Mushir Alam, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Yahya Afridi heard the reference.
During the course of proceedings, the counsel for the Election Commission submitted a copy of the code of conduct for voters.
Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Raza Rabbani, while starting arguments in his personal capacity, said the main purpose of Senate s creation was federalism. Founder of Pakistan Qauid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had also raised the point of federalism in his 14-points, he added.

ISLAMABAD: The Defence Ministry has described the country s former spy chief, Lt. General (R) Asad Durrani, as affiliated to or interacting with “ hostile intelligence elements, including the Indian intelligence agency RAW”, in a damning reply submitted before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
