Mehlman: Biden promising goodies to block border surge

An immigration watchdog says President Biden appears to be mirroring Donald Trump’s actions by urging Latin American countries to keep citizens from marching north but, in reality, it’s not quite the same tactic.
“Only in this case,” Ira Mehlman of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, observes, “it s probably going to wind up costing the American taxpayers more.”
In recent days, the Biden administration has announced it has secured agreements that three Latin American countries, Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, will station more troops on their borders in an attempt to stem the flow of migrants headed to the southern U.S. border.
