President Trump is being urged to extend an executive order he signed in June that halted a number of foreign visa worker programs so as to ease labor market competition against millions of jobless Americans who have been forced out of their jobs by the Chinese coronavirus crisis.
The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has sent a letter to Trump asking that he extend the order, set to expire by January 1, 2021, to continue to prioritize unemployed Americans for scarce jobs in the United States rather than allowing businesses to import foreign workers on various visas.

Trump first signed an order in April that restricted some green cards, and then expanded it in June to include a number of guest-worker programs including new H-1B tech worker visas, H-2B seasonal worker visas, certain J work and education exchange visitor visas and L executive transfer visas. It contained exemptions for military and health care workers, and cases deemed in the national interest.

ANN ARBOR, MI - The Michigan Supreme Court will hear arguments next week over whether sealed off records of an anti-immigration activist that are housed at the University of Michigan are considered public record.
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the case on Jan. 6, 2021, regarding papers in the collection of the late John Tanton, who sought to end illegal immigration and set a ceiling on legal immigration. The university and complainant Hassan Ahmad will address whether the documents sought by Ahmad are within the definition of “public record” under Michigan’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
