FGEHA decides not to entertain power of attorney holders: minister - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to stop middle men, the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has decided not to entertain power of attorney holders for land acquisition, for development of sectors G-12 and F-12. The FGEHA is a subsidiary organisation of Ministry of Housing and Works, which last year got the federal cabinet’s approval for development of both sectors. A couple of months ago, the FGEHA had announced land award of the said sectors and decided that the authority will pay Rs7.2 million for one kanal of land. However, a large number of middle men became active and they started purchasing land from locals against nominal rates on the basis of power of attorney so that they could get financial compensation from FGEHA, instead of locals.

1,029 allottees get provisional plots in G-14/2 and 3

Islamabad May 3, 2021 Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has provisionally handed over as many as 1,029 plots of different categories to the allottees of sub-sectors G-14/2 and 3. The FGEHA had given around 354 plots in G-14/2 and 649 plots in G-14/3 of different categories, official sources in the Ministry of Housing and Works told this agency. They said over 60 allottees had taken final possession letters and 17 allottees had applied for issuance of no objection certificate for the approval of building plans. The sources said more than 10 allottees had started construction of houses in sub-sectors G-14/2 and G-14/3. The Housing Scheme Phase-IV of the FGEHA was launched in 2004 in sub-sectors G-14/1, 2 and 3 Islamabad. About 4,820 kanals of land was acquired through land acquisition collection under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 in March, 2004, they added. .

There is no water supply whatsoever in Sector G-14/4 and residents have to entirely depend upon tanker water supply at costly rates. The spokesperson for local monitoring committee said that it is the responsibility of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to provide water to the residents but despite its efforts in the last two years, no solution is visible. Droughts and Climate Change also having an adverse impact on the situation, he said.
