Start-up of Weymouth compressor station delayed
WEYMOUTH – The recently constructed natural gas compressor won’t go back online until federal regulators receive a full report on September s emergency shutdowns at the plant.
Max Bergeron, a spokesman for the Canadian company that built the compressor station, said in an email this week that the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration is waiting on a “root cause analysis” final report before allowing the compressor to go back online.
He said that report will be completed “in short order,” but didn’t say when.
“At this time, we are maintaining the lower authorized pressure and will coordinate the planned pressure increase, testing, and commencement of full operations in cooperation with (the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration),” Bergeron said in an email.
