Islamabad: The National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) in a meeting on Monday decided to open registration for people aged 40 and above from tomorrow to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiative Asad Umar in a tweet said the NCOC decided “to open up registration of 40 plus age citizens starting tomorrow.”
The NCOC also decided to allow walk-in vaccination of all registered citizens of 50 plus age groups. “If you are 40 years or older please register and encourage others to register,” said the minister in his tweet.
Pakistan’s vaccination drive received a boost as the country received another batch of 1 million doses from China.
‘FDE ignored in teacher recruitment panel’

Islamabad : The teachers have raised questions about the ongoing Federal Public Service Commission (FPCS) exercise to fill the Federal Directorate of Education s (FDE) vacancies of lecturers (female) insisting the recruitment process is violating the prevalent procedure and protocol.
They told The News that the interview panel appointed by the FPSC had four members and Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE) Chairman Qaisar Alam was one of them as a departmental representative of the FDE.
The teachers said the departmental representative was usually a senior officer from the relevant department with deeper knowledge of the demand and capacity of the positions to be filled.
Authorities have closed all public and private educational institutes in Islamabad till Eidul Fitr, the Federal Directorate of Education announced Sunday. The decision was taken at a National Command and Operation Centre meeting earlier this week.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - All government educational institutions run under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) have been closed with immediate effect till Eid-ul-Fitr, Dunya News reported.
According to a notification issued by FDE, the announcement was made in accordance with decisions taken at the highest forum of National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).
FDE has directed to all Area Education Officers (AEOs) to comply the orders in true letter and spirit. The heads of institutions shall however ensure that home based learning is to be continued as per previous arrangements.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has sought the law ministry’s guidance for implementing the cabinet’s decision of running school buses through the School Management Committee (SMC).
The federal cabinet in February this year had decided that FDE school buses would be run through the SMC on a cost-sharing basis. During PML-N’s tenure, the FDE had procured 200 buses for schools and colleges, however, funds were not allocated for fuel and drivers.
