FDE institutions observing Kashmir Solidarity Week Islamabad February 3, 2021 Islamabad : The educational institutions of the federal capital which fall under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) are observing ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ to highlight the Kashmir issue and atrocities of the Indian occupational forces in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK). FDE proposes Rs7bn worth of projects for schools, colleges - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has proposed a project worth Rs7 billion to upgrade and give a facelift to 170 schools and colleges and the offices of five area education officers (AEOs). “We have submitted the PC-I to the Planning Commission for approval,” said FDE Director General Dr Ikram Ali Malik. Senate approves bill mandating Arabic be taught in all Islamabad schools - Pakistan

Senator Raza Rabbani offered the sole dissenting opinion against the bill to make teaching Arabic compulsory. DawnNewsTV The Senate on Monday approved the Compulsory Teaching of the Arabic Language Bill 2020 which makes teaching of the Arabic language mandatory in primary and secondary schools in Islamabad. The bill was presented by PML-N Senator Javed Abbasi and approved near-unanimously by members of the Senate, with PPP Senator Raza Rabbani offering the sole dissenting note. The ministry concerned will implement the bill within a period of six months. The bill states that Arabic will be taught in schools in Islamabad from grades 1 to 5, while Arabic grammar will be taught to grades 6 to 12.

Pakistan set to open educational institutions from Monday

Earlier, Pakistan opened schools for grade 9-12 on January 18 after a break of two months. The decision to resume sessions for the rest of the classes in the provinces and the federal territory of Islamabad is being taken in the light of the recommendations of the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC). According to the guidelines, academic activity will resume with strict compliance of COVID-19 SOPs and students will be divided into two groups and each group will attend classes for three days in a week. The Punjab government has issued a notification in light of the decision made by the NCOC after reviewing the coronavirus situation in the country, according to which the board examinations for matric and intermediate students will be held in May and June.
