Vermont Business Magazine FEMA recently awarded a $1,972,612 grant to the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development (ACCD) for the state’s Emergency Feeding Program.
The grant covers 100% of the costs of the state’s “Vermont Everyone Eats” program, which provides nutritious meals to high-risk populations impacted by COVID-19 throughout Vermont. The program is administered by the Westminster-based Southeastern Vermont Community Action.
This project was funded through FEMA’s Public Assistance Program which reimburses eligible applicants for actions taken in the immediate response and during recovery from a major disaster. Eligible applicants include states, local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations.

Northern Light Health has received nearly $1 million in reimbursement for operating the COVID-19 vaccination center at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency said in a news release Monday it has awarded a grant of $928,706 to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, which stood up the vaccination center in January. The center can provide up to 900 inoculations per day.
The grant covers a three-month period and pays for a variety of expenses, including the costs of personal protective equipment, materials for handling and administering COVID-19 vaccines, emergency medical care for vaccine administration and supplies for handling medical waste.

Vermont Business Magazine The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $9,609,431 to the University of Vermont Medical Center for its COVID-19 response efforts March 1-June 30, 2020.
This Public Assistance (PA) grant funding is awarded for the development of testing sites, leases for sites and quarantine facilities, use of equipment, paying medical and technical support, and tracking procurement and distribution of supplies. The funds are reimbursed 100% through the PA program.
“We are pleased to provide this funding to The University of Vermont Medical Center,” said Acting Region 1 Administrator and Federal Coordinating Officer Paul Ford, who oversees FEMA’s operations in New England. “We will continue working closely with UVM Medical Center in our shared efforts to respond to the pandemic.”

Vermont Business Magazine The State of Vermont received a grant totaling over $1 million from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), awarded to help reimburse expenses associated with ongoing COVID-19 response efforts.
The grant of $1,397,762 is given to the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, to pass through to Southern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA), for food distribution to high risk populations. Work performed under this grant occurred from January 18 to February 14.

Vermont Business Magazine The Federal Emergency Management Agency has obligated $1.6 million to the Vermont Department of Public Safety to help reimburse eligible expenses the state has incurred as a result of its response to COVID-19.
The grant funds, authorized under a major disaster declaration approved by the president on March 29, 2020, for the entire state will help reimburse the state projected eligible costs associated with the purchase of 80 ventilators.
This grant is funded through FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) Grant program which reimburses communities for actions taken in the immediate response and during recovery from a disaster. Eligible applicants include states, federally recognized tribal governments, U.S. territories, local governments, and certain private non-profit organizations. The grant applications are submitted from the state, which coordinates the process with local governments.
