08:13 | Lima, Dec. 24. The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and German State-owned development bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) have signed a financial contribution contract worth €20 million (around US$24.41 million), for the conservation of 12 protected natural areas.
These resources come from a donation made by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and will be destined to the project Financial Sustainability for Protected Areas of the northern Amazon Biome.
Economy and Finance Minister Waldo Mendoza indicated that this amount will help improve the protection of biological diversity and the sustainable use of natural resources in 10 protected natural areas under national administration, as well as two regional conservation areas.
Pakistan, Germany sign Technical Cooperation Agreement

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The government of Pakistan and the Federal Republic of Germany on Thursday signed the Technical Cooperation Agreement in Islamabad.
Under the agreement, Germany will provide technical assistance worth €10 million (approximately Rs 1.95 billion) for two projects “Promoting Resilience against Impacts of Natural Disaster in Pakistan” and “Improvement of Labour, Social and Environmental Standards in Pakistan Textile Industry”.
The agreement was signed by the Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Islamabad Noor Ahmed on behalf of the government of Pakistan and the German Ambassador to Pakistan H. E. Bernhard Schlagheck.
The aim of the project “Promoting Resilience against Impacts of Natural Disaster in Pakistan” is to technically equip the disaster management authorities to support in development planning and implementation to reduce disaster risks.
