Introduction In recent years there has been an increased use of technologies that match a person s digital image (eg, from a surveillance camera) to a picture database. These technologies facilitate various tasks, including: the identification of criminal suspects; the verification of an individual s ID to provide access to computing platforms or other electronic devices; and CCTV surveillance. However, these technologies are also prone to misuse and data and privacy infringement.
