17 detained for suspected cybercrimes
The Federal Criminal Police (FCC) has arrested 17 people, on 5 May, on suspicion of having committed hundreds of aggravated computer scams, computer forgery and unlawful access in an operation to combat cybercrime in the Estremoz area.
In a statement, the PJ said that the “MBWay” investigation began a few months ago and is based on several cases of fraud committed in an organised manner, using the banking application.
The investigative strategy, the PJ said, was aimed at locating and grouping together the various reports that were scattered throughout various districts of the country, demonstrating “the repeated and organised criminal activity” in order to identify/locate the detainees.

Minister Seehofer is Germany s top security official and he recently thanked the authorities for their success in taking down this platform. That s what investigators work day and night, online and offline, globally, says Seehofer. We ll do everything within our power to protect the kids from these disgusting crimes.
The platform taken down was one of the biggest international darknet sites and was used by more than 400,000 registered members, according to German prosecutors. According to the official statement, the German police task force worked in cooperation with Europol and law enforcement authorities from the Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, the United States, and Canada.
