That s up from 3,063 claims Saturday and 7,139 on Sunday. The seven-day range is 3,063 to 10,458.

Altogether, there have been 3.17 million state and federal UI claims during the pandemic including 1.4 million initial claims. Some federal programs require filing additional state claims.
About 32% of the 4.37 million North Carolinians considered part of the stateâs workforce as of mid-November have filed a state or federal unemployment claim.

The Indiana Department of Health reported 502 additional confirmed deaths over the last week. That brings the state’s total to 8,613 confirmed deaths. The state also reported more than 37,500 new cases in the last week.
Since moving to Stage 5 of its reopening plan on Sept. 26, the state has reported 446,286 positive cases and 5,223 confirmed deaths – 79.1 percent of the state’s total positive cases and 60.6 percent of deaths for the entire pandemic.

Unemployed Iowans are expected to begin receiving Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation benefits the week of Jan. 18, Iowa Workforce Development said in a news release Monday.
FPUC provides those receiving unemployment benefits an additional $300 per week through March 13. The initial version of FPUC gave $600 per week, but it expired at the end of July.
While President Donald Trump signed the federal coronavirus relief bill Dec. 27, IWD was waiting for guidance from the U.S. Department of Labor before issuing FPUC benefits.
The state agency is encouraging unemployed Iowans to file their claims online. It automatically will enroll eligible Iowans in federal unemployment programs.
