The Delaware Department of Labor issued the following after President Donald Trump signed the latest Covid-19 Relief bill. The bill extends certain federal unemployment benefits available under the CARES Act.
The bill extends the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance program (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation program (PEUC). No guidance has yet been issued on implementing the extension of the PUA and PEUC programs.
The Labor Department confirmed that callers are seeing longer waits on phone calls. Some jobless benefits expired during the holiday period.
Phone traffic to the department has been heavy since the onset of the pandemic.
