State governors are to receive the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID-19 vaccines in the coming days.
The commencement of vaccination in Nigeria began on Friday in Abuja.
Nigeria received about four million doses of the vaccine at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on Tuesday.
But Bello while speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme said he would not allow the people of the state to be used as “guinea pigs”.
“Coronavirus is not our business in Kogi State. We have more pertinent issues that need to be attended to in Kogi State.

On the 27th of January, 2021, President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Coronavirus Health Guidelines Order with far-reaching provisions and restrictions that equally carried punishments for contraventions.
The President, also directed the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, and other relevant local government, state and Federal governments’ agencies to enforce the regulations.
The President also warned that any officer that failed, neglected, or refused to enforce the provisions of the regulations would be subjected to disciplinary actions.
“Any person who, without reasonable cause, contravenes a direction given under Parts 1 and 2 of these regulations commits an offence. Any person who, without reasonable cause, obstructs an authorised official from enforcement of these regulations commits an offence,” the President said in the regulations.

How police rescued 16 kidnap victims in Delta

The Police Command in Delta, on Thursday, confirmed it rescued 16 kidnap victims in Ogor, near Ughelli South LGA of Delta.
The Command spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, said in a statement in Asaba, that the victims were rescued on Wednesday.
“On March 3, 2021, at about 19.37 hrs, a distress call was received that about 16 workers of one Mr Zion Onofighe, a hotelier, were attacked by gunmen at his building site in Ogor, Ughelli.
“Patrol teams dispatched to the scene, later engaged the hoodlums in a shootout.
“They successfully rescued the hotelier and 16 workers unhurt.
