Two persons identified as Rabiu Abubakar and Mohammed Dan Kwairo were burnt to death after a tanker exploded at the Yaba Junction of Gada-Biyu village on the Abuja-Lokoja Road.
A witness said the incident happened last Thursday night when the petrol laden tanker lost control and crashed into a ditch, and that some residents rushed to the scene with jerry cans and buckets to scoop fuel, before the tanker exploded, with two people burnt to death and two injured.
When contacted, the FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ayuba Wobin Gora, confirmed the tanker explosion, but said he was not aware of the deaths.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Osun Sector Command, said on Monday that one person lost his life in an auto crash that occurred on Gbogan-Ibadan expressway.
The Sector Commander, Mrs Kudirat Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement by the command’s Spokesperson, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi, which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Osogbo.
Ibrahim said the incident in which four persons were also injured, was caused by speeding and non-compliance to road traffic regulations .
He noted that the accident which occurred around Salam-Salam area, seven kilometers to Sasa Bridge, involved 11 persons.
