Breaking News | Breaking News Boko Haram regrouping in Nasarawa, gov Sule cries out

Oba Darasimi Nasarawa Governor Abdulahi Sule has raised the alarm over activities of the terror group, Boko Haram, in his state. Governor Sule visited President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday for a closed door meeting in his office at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja, to discuss the insecurity issue in Nasarawa along with other issues including the possible federal government take-over of Jitata Road, which serves as an alternative route from the state to the FCT. According to Governor Sule, members of the terror group, who were dislodged from a location along the Abuja/Nasarawa borders last year, had regrouped along the Nasarawa/Benue borders, wrecking new forms of havoc.

Two die in Osun car crash

The personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) rescued those injured in the accident and evacuated the corpses from the road. The Sector Commander, Mrs Kudirat Ibrahim, confirmed the incident. She spoke through the Public Relations Officer of FRSC in the state, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi. Ibrahim told Daily Trust that apart from two persons that died in the accident, three others sustained injuries. The FRSC boss identified loss of control, speed violation and dangerous driving as probable causes of the accident. “The injured victims were taken to Wesley Hospital, Ilesa, in whose mortuary one of the corpses was kept. The other dead victim is still trapped in the vehicle”, she said.

13 Killed, 70 Injured In Katsina Road Accident

Channels Television   Updated January 22, 2021 Katsina, usually referred to as Katsina State to distinguish it from the city of Katsina, is a state in North West zone of Nigeria.     Thirteen people have been reportedly killed and 70 others injured as a result of a road accident along Kaita-Dankama Road in Katsina State. An eyewitness explained that a truck that conveyed the victims left Dankama town on Thursday night for Lagos State with most of the passengers from Niger Republic. The eyewitness disclosed that other victims who sustained various degrees of injury have been taken to various hospitals in the state, they include; General Hospital Katsina, Federal Medical Centre and Amadi Rimi Orthopedic Hospital.

FRSC decorates newly promoted officers in Rivers

TODAY January 21, 2021 Seventeen newly promoted officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Rivers Command were decorated on Thursday. The command said the newly decorated officers would strengthen its operations in 2021. The State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Salisu Galadunci, said in a statement on Thursday that the newly promoted officers were among those whose names appeared on the promotion list in 2019. He said that 17 officers from the command, cutting across different ranks, were successful. The sector commander said that the list was approved by the FRSC Board and released by management in December 2020. “The promoted officers were declared successful on completion of a series of normal promotion exercise as supervised by the Office of the Secretary to the Federal Government.
