Digital Editor Meijer is preparing to launch a series of vaccine clinics this week at stores throughout Michigan for pre-registered patients age 65 and older.
Meijer has revealed its goal to administer 25,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses by week s end at its Michigan stores. The retailer is preparing to launch a series of vaccine clinics geared toward supplying the vaccine to Michiganders age 65 years and older who have pre-registered through its vaccine registration process. We are very proud of the role our stores and pharmacies continue to play in this massive effort to vaccinate people against COVID-19, said Meijer President and CEO Rick Keyes. As a pharmacy partner to both the state of Michigan and the federal government, we have been able to receive vaccines and quickly administer doses to thousands of people in our communities, usually within 72 hours.
Rite Aid and Topco Pharmacy are among the Pennsylvania pharmacy chains that will receive direct shipments of COVID-19 vaccines starting next week, part of President Joseph Bidenâs administrationâs plan to ramp up vaccinations, the White House announced Tuesday.
Despite the anticipated additional doses to pharmacies in the federal partnership program, Pennsylvania Department of Health senior adviser Lindsay Mauldin asked for people to be patient as the stateâs vaccine distribution plan continues to move slowly.
Rite Aid public relations director Chris Savarese said more information about which stores in Pennsylvania â including those in Washington, Greene and Fayette counties â will be included in the initial shipment, which will be available at a later date.
Push being made for NC pharmacies to receive COVID-19 vaccine doses to distribute By Bridget Chapman | February 3, 2021 at 10:59 AM EST - Updated February 3 at 12:29 PM
RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – The White House announced on Tuesday it is going to distribute more COVID-19 vaccines to pharmacies across the country.
The goal is to increase access to the vaccine.
It’s also what North Carolina State Treasurer Dale Folwell has been asking for. He wants to have more than health systems and health departments distributing the vaccine. He’s advocating for a new plan.
“What’s behind it is the tremendous frustration across North Carolina with people not being able to get their vaccines,” Folwell said.
