Cuomo Admin Delayed Data on Nursing Home Deaths Over Fear It Was Going to be Used Against Us
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo s top aide told Democratic lawmakers that his administration took months to release data on the coronavirus death toll among nursing home residents because officials “froze” over worries the information was “going to be used against us.
The information came from a Democratic lawmaker who attended the Wednesday meeting and to a partial transcript released by the governor s office.
Republicans who term the comment admission of a “cover-up” are now calling for resignations of both Cuomo and the aide, secretary to the governor Melissa DeRosa, while progressive Democrats are blasting the administration over what they say is a lack of transparency.
Rite Aid to Begin Administering COVID-19 Vaccine in Michigan

Michigan Rite Aid pharmacies began administering the COVID-19 vaccines Friday.
Michigan is one of five states, as well as Philadelphia and New York City, to vaccinate at Rite Aid.
Vaccine eligibility is based on state guidelines.
Rite Aid expects to get at least 100 doses per participating store to start.
The company expects initial appointments to be difficult to come by, but says it should get better with time.
Rite Aid is participating in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.

Feb. 10 RUBONIA Seniors were elated on Wednesday morning as they arrived at the Rubonia Community Center to get their first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

So grateful, she said as she and her husband, Pastor Danny Thomas, Sr., 74, of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, waited to be monitored for any potential reactions to the vaccine.

“Federal pharmacy partners will follow guidance from their jurisdictions on which populations are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination and will screen individuals prior to vaccination to ensure their retail locations are following the jurisdiction’s vaccination plan,” she said.
How it will work
The way it will work is similar to other vaccination efforts.
Pharmacists across the United States have given out more than 20 million flu vaccinations this year alone, according to the NACDS.
Dr. Kevin Ban, the chief medical officer at Walgreens, said the process for getting a vaccination at a pharmacy now is pretty much how it will look going forward.
