The success marked a major milestone in improving the development of a fully reusable spacecraft that could carry both crew and cargo on interplanetary flights. SpaceX is aiming to use the spacecraft to take humans to the Moon and eventually to Mars.
Now the private rocket company is focusing on its next step in testing the 160 foot tall Starship rocket.
In a Federal Communications Commission filing, SpaceX outlined plans to launch a Starship rocket atop a Super Heavy booster from its facility in Boca Chica, Texas. The booster will then separate midair about three minutes into the flight and land in the Gulf of Mexico about 20 miles from shore.

President Joe Biden’s joint address to Congress reiterated his promise to bring high-speed internet to every person in the country. However, his proposed $100 billion investment in broadband infrastructure could fail to meet this important challenge if critical changes aren’t made.
The “digital divide” between those with and without access to broadband internet has been an issue for decades, and the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the issue. Federal investments may be needed to reach the final 4.3 million households without broadband access, but this can’t be done without the private sector.
The prioritization for funding to networks “owned, operated by, or affiliated with local governments, non-profits, and co-operatives” ignores the fact that the private sector has held up remarkably well during the global pandemic. Similarly, preferential treatment for government-run broadband can create serious competition problems for consumers. Coupled wi
SpaceX may have blown upa fewof its rockets to get to this point but we have to give the company credit: When they get it right, they scale up quickly. On the heels of finally landing one of its Starship prototypes (SN15 is the one that made it down intact), the company is planning a much more ambitious orbital test of its new rocket system.
SpaceX is shooting for the stars
Previous Starship tests have seen the large rocket launching 10km into the air before dropping back to attempt a vertical landing. Try to imagine a Boeing 747 performing a 9km vertical drop before touching down on a runway and you’ll have some idea how hard this is to execute. But documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the States have revealed a much more impressive test of Starship’s capabilities.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. Residents, City Council members, and health officials are frustrated with the unfolding situation concerning a Verizon cell tower at 877 South St. The tower was erected in August 2020 and has since driven large amounts of public comment in the open microphone segment of City Council meetings. Alma Street resident Courtney Gilardi has been the primary spokesperson for the cell tower opposition and has had her 12-year-old daughter Amelia call into the meetings to speak about the symptoms she is experiencing such as nausea and sleep disturbances. At Tuesday s City Council meeting, Health Director Gina Armstrong presented an official four-step alternative plan to address these concerns without the help of the state Department of Public Health, which offered the services of a Bureau of Environmental Health representative and then backed out.
