Wireless division teams up with FCC to offer qualified consumers broadband discount program Ridgeland, Mississippi (May 6, 2021) – C Spire Wireless is partnering with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to offer qualifying consumers $50 off their wireless service for a limited time on select plans. A division of C Spire, a diversified telecommunications and technology services company, C Spire Wireless is participating in the FCC Emergency Broadband Benefit program, a temporary $3.2 billion federal program to be launched soon and designed to help households struggling to pay for internet service during the public health crisis. The program, which will open for enrollment on May 12, provides discounts of up to $50 a month for wireless service and is limited to one line of service for each eligible C Spire current or new customer.

On Thursday, New York Attorney General (AG) Letitia James announced that her office has released a report detailing her office’s investigation into fake public comments submitted for the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) 2017 proceeding to repeal net neutrality rules, and securing $4.4 million in penalties and disgorgement from the violators.
According to the investigation, there was “widespread fraud” and “abusive practices used to sway government policy – using masses of comments and messages to create the false impression of popular support.” Specifically, AG James noted that the end of investigation into three companies, namely, Fluent Inc., Opt-Intelligence Inc., and React2Media Inc., concludes inquiry into these companies over their “millions of fake comments submitted in the 2017 net neutrality proceeding.” In these companies’ agreement with the OAG, they are required to adopt comprehensive reforms for future advocac
