BC is expanding its COVID-19 enforcement measures
The Government of BC announced today that it would be expanding COVID-19 enforcement measures across the province.
BC’s minister of public safety, Mike Farnworth has asked a number of agencies to actively support police in this regard during their normal course of duties or in public places.
This includes gaming investigators, conservation officers, community safety unit inspectors and liquor and cannabis inspectors.
Farnworth said police departments have already been working hard to educate the public and issue tickets when needed, but this is a necessary additional step.
The vast majority of British Columbians are doing their best to follow the rules. For those who aren t, there are fines for $230 to $2,300 for violating provincial health orders.
