BRIDGEPORT Former city police chief Armando Perez is now inmate 07860-509.
The 65-year-old Perez was sentenced last month by U.S. District Judge Kari Dooley to a year and a day in prison after he and the city’s former personnel director, David Dunn, pleaded guilty last October to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and making a false statement to the FBI.
On Monday, Perez surrendered to federal prison officials to begin his sentence and was transferred to the Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution in Glenville, W.Va.
His lawyer did not return calls and emails for comment.
