Express Entry: CRS drops to 432 in new CEC draw | Canada Immigration News

This is no April Fools joke Canada invited 5,000 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence on April 1. Invited candidates needed to be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and have a score of at least 432 in order to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA), 17 points less than the previous CEC-only draw. Candidates who had the minimum score of 432 were only invited if they submitted their Express Entry profile before February 16, 2021 at 09:51:22 UTC, as per the tie-break rule. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) publishes the cut-off time for the tie-break rule as an administrative requirement, regardless of whether there was an actual tie.

Express Entry: Canada invites 183 PNP candidates | Canada Immigration News

Canada invited 183 Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence on March 17. Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited candidates who had a minimum score of 682. This Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement may seem high, but that is because everyone invited had previously received a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Express Entry candidates who get a provincial nomination are automatically given 600 points on top of their original human capital score. Meaning those who had the minimum score of 682, would have originally had a CRS score of 82 without the provincial nomination. Candidates who had the minimum score of 682 were only included if they submitted their Express Entry profile before March 4, 2021 at 16:56:20 UTC, as per the tie-break rule. IRCC publishes the cut-off time for the tie-break rule as an administrative requirement, regardless of whether there was an actual tie.

Saskatchewan invites 248 PNP candidates | Canada Immigration News

Saskatchewan invited 248 principal applicants to apply for a provincial nomination on March 11. The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited candidates from the  International Skilled Worker category. Of those invited, 72 may be eligible for the SINP’s Express Entry subcategory, and 176 may get the nomination through the Occupations In-Demand sub-category. Regardless of the stream invited candidates needed an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 71 in order to be invited. They also needed Educational Credential Assessments to demonstrate their foreign education was equivalent to the Canadian standard. They also needed work experience in one of the 70 in-demand occupations listed on the government webpage. Some of the eligible occupations include purchasing agents and officers, social and community service workers, as well as educational counsellors.
