Take a closer look at Arizona’s draft social equality statute (comments due today!)
Arizona’s cannabis regulatory agency, the Arizona Department of Health Services (hereinafter referred to as the “department”), has issued draft regulations for the Social Equitable Opportunity Program (“SEOP”). click here View the draft regulations. Comments on the draft regulations should be closed on May 16, 2021 (Sunday).
According to SEOP, Arizona will issue an additional 26 licenses. According to the Arizona Amendment Regulations (“ARS”), the SEOP regulations apply to:
Establish and implement a socially fair ownership plan to promote the ownership and operation of cannabis establishments… Community residents have a disproportionate influence on the enforcement of cannabis laws. ARS§36-2854(A)(9).
Lt. Governor Gilchrist Encourages Michiganders to Sign Up for Federal Program to Lower Cost of High-Speed Internet
Michiganders are eligible to receive discounts on internet service and devices.
LANSING, Mich. - Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II and the Connecting Michigan Taskforce are encouraging Michigan families to sign up for a new federal program to help lower the cost of high speed internet service, which has begun enrolling participants today.
The Emergency Broadband Benefit, a new program from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), is making $3.2 billion available nationwide for eligible households to receive discounts of up to $50 per month on internet service, or up to $75 per month for qualifying households on Tribal lands. In addition, some internet service providers will also provide a one-time $100 discount toward the purchase of a computer, laptop or tablet.
