The number of Kodiak High School graduates from the past five years who are now full-time college students is half the number that it was at this time last year, perhaps reflecting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their post-high-school lives.Â
Every year, the Kodiak Island Borough School District calls about 1,000 former students who graduated in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and asks them about what they are up to and how they felt Kodiakâs schools prepared them for the world.Â
The results are used to guide school administrators in their decision making, as well as with help writing grant proposals and informing project development facilitated by the Federal Programs Department.Â

While the global health pandemic, COVID-19, continues to make headlines in the new year after it emerged in the area in March 2020, Weakley County saw its share of good news, as well as losses for the final six months of the year.
