In his piece on Tuesday, ‘The Death of Ahmed Gulak’, Dr Reuben Abati attested to the character of the late Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan with whom he worked. He also spoke about the danger his gruesome murder portends, especially at this period in our nation. I didn’t know Gulak as well as Reuben, but I found the deceased politician and lawyer a very friendly man with whom I enjoyed a good laugh whenever and wherever we met. I therefore commiserate with his family as I pray God will offer them comfort at this most difficult period.

Some residents of Arab road, Kubwa, Abuja on Friday expressed grief over the loss of their property following the demolition of illegal shops by the Development Control of the Federal Capital Development Authority ( FCDA ).
Some shop owners in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), while counting their losses, said that the Thursday demolition exercise caught them unaware.
The shop owners, who said that they lost property worth millions of naira to the exercise, said that hoodlums had a field day on them as they carted away their goods.

House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has asked the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to stop the demolition of the Adkan estate police station and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) office, the situation within the premises in Abuja.
The order was sequel to a petition filed by the residents of the estate before the House.
Dated April 14th 2021, the petition accused the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) of encroaching into the green zone of the estate and selling off some portions of it.
