Q&A in the past five years because as much as I ve tried, I have to switch it off because it feels like I m being hypnotised and parachuted into a Communist Party meeting of the 1950s. The audience, selected for their impartiality , whoop and holler when a Labor lefty or Greens senator makes a point, yet the token conservative is stared down and is about as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip.

CME welcomes Federal exploration incentive extension
The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA (CME) welcomes today’s announcement by Federal Resources Minister Keith Pitt of a four-year extension of the Junior Minerals Exploration Incentive.
Mr Pitt announced the $100 million commitment ahead of next week’s Federal Budget.
CME Chief Executive Paul Everingham said the greenfield activities of junior explorers were in many ways an unseen lifeblood of the mining sector.
“The wider public is probably quite familiar with the WA’s big and established mining projects – and these deserve to be celebrated for the economic, employment and community benefits they deliver for the State and, indeed, the country,” Mr Everingham said.

Reactions to George Christensenâs shock announcement he would not recontest the next federal election have been as divisive as the figure himself.
The Dawson MP last week declared he had renominated as the LNP candidate to represent the electorate he has held for four terms, with a massive 14.6 per cent swing.
But Mr Christensen, in a shock move, announced late Thursday he would step down before the next election to be held within the next year.
Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack on Thursday night thanked Mr Christensen and said his decision to âstep back, spend time with family and pursue a career after politicsâ was one ânot taken casuallyâ.
