Jun 15, 2021 to Jun 17, 2021 As people across the state gear up to plant their gardens this spring, the Montana Department of Agriculture (MDA) is reminding growers about the importance of buying and planting seeds from licensed seed dealers to protect against invasive species and plant diseases. “Spring is such an exciting time for agriculture in Montana, from our farmers and ranchers out in the field to the folks planting gardens in their backyard,” said Director Mike Foster. “Along with this excitement comes a responsibility to look after our state by purchasing seeds from trustworthy sources. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Department to ensure that your seeds are safe before planting them.”

Close to 150 seed packages were received in Montana and sent to USDA’s Animal and Plant Inspection Service for testing. Hemp producers in Delaware must register growing sites by Feb 1

December 14, 2020 The Delaware Department of Agriculture is reminding hemp producers to register their growing sites before Monday, Feb. 1, using the annual growing site registration form available online. Also, any individual who intends to grow, cultivate or distribute hemp including transplants, seedlings or clones, must apply to be a Delaware Domestic Hemp Production Program Producer, with renewal required every three years. As described in the Delaware Domestic Hemp Production Program Participant Guide online at de.gov/hemp, there are also requirements for processors and handlers. The Delaware Department of Agriculture is responsible for regulating hemp production. The department does not have oversight of the selling of hemp products or the businesses marketing these products, including any CBD product.
