UAE law: A man promised to marry me after hiding his identity Can I file a case?

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Question: I met a man through a matrimonial site in Dubai. He promised to marry me and we were in a relationship for a year. Now, I have discovered through a series of events that the person had a fake profile on the site and concealed his real identity. He has left the UAE after losing his job. How can I file a case against him in his home country? Will it stand? Answer: Pursuant to your queries, it may be noted that recently, a number of legal reforms have taken place in the UAE. These include the decriminalisation of the offence noted under Article 356 of the Federal Law No. (3) of 1987 related to issuance of Penal Code (the Penal Code).

UAE legal view: Up to Dh20,000 fine, jail for defamation

(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Question: I lost my tooth and tooth bone due to a medical error of a dentist in a Dubai clinic. The clinic staff acknowledged the error (verbally) but refused to do anything about it. I registered a case with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and have got a report in my favour, stating it was a medical malpractice that caused me immense physical and mental trauma. I want to report this case in the Press for the larger good of people, so that no one suffers like me. But the hospital says it will sue me if I do so. Can I publish this case in the media with the DHA report or will I get sued?
