Lane will lead Highland Health Care

HIGHLAND Highland Health Care Center has named Andrew Lane, RN/LNHA, as its new executive director.
The 128-bed skilled nursing facility provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing care, memory care and respite care.
Prior to joining Highland Health Care Center, Lane was administrator at St. Louis Place Health and Rehabilitation in St. Louis. His career began at Chateau Girardeau, a retirement community in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he was Director of Nursing in 2015-2016.
Lane, who lives in St. Peters, Missouri, is a sergeant in the Missouri Army National Guard, having previously served in the U.S. Army for 18 years, which included several overseas deployments. He earned his Associates Degree in Nursing from Southeast Health College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2015 and went on this year to receive his bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Central Methodist University.
John B. Mestad
John B. Mestad, 56, of Stewartville, MN died on Monday (January 4, 2021) following a short illness at his home.
John Blaine Mestad was born July 23, 1964. He was the son of Blaine and Christiane (Charpetier) Mestad. He grew up in Rochester and graduated from John Marshall H.S. in 1982. He enlisted into the US Marines serving 4 years. Following his discharge he returned to Rochester, he bought and operated Brownies Gym. He lived in North Carolina for a brief time and then moved back to Minnesota. John received his Associates Degree in Nursing at RCTC and his Bachelors in Nursing at Augsburg in Rochester. He was employed as a RN at Mayo Clinic – St. Marys in the critical care Float Staff for 15 years. He was a very knowledgeable and intuitive nurse. He treated his patients with dignity and respect and his patients loved him. Attending church services at Christ Community Church was an important part of John’s everyday life.
