President Joe Biden on Friday kicked off the Memorial Day weekend by celebrating progress made in the fight against COVID-19 and thanking U.S. troops for their service.
The president started the Memorial Day weekend by visiting a rock climbing gym in northern Virginia. He then paid tribute to the armed forces with an address at Joint Base Langley-Eustis. Biden also used the day to thank Americans who have already received vaccinations, while urging those who haven’t to get their shot.
